I had to laugh!

This afternoon when I picked up Buddy from school, he comes bounding over to M.E. and..
Buddy says, "Guess what I learned to tie my shoes today"
M.E. looks down and see this....

M.E. says, "good job" Laughing Out Loud because it looks like just a bunch of knots to M.E.Later I was getting him in the van to leave when he shows me his athleteic ability to bend into a C.

I can to that too... but I might not be able to get out of it. or bed the next morning.

Ode to my bestest Friend!

I married Isis on the fifth day of May...... B. Dylan

This morning, I reflect on my best friend, her husband and their anniversary. Here's some wedding pics.

They've experienced so much, the death of a parent, birth of a child, several major career changes, illnesses & surgeries, a sick parent and their fair share of daily woes. But they've put their faith in God, their family and friends, and are being Blessed for it now. Happy 8th Anniversary you guys! We love and miss you!

Reasons to Weep!

Reason 1. As some of you may know, Simple Scrapbooks Magazine, is no longer being published. This is my most favorite magazine ever, the one Nana and Grandpa renews for M.E. every Christmas. Anyhow, its no longer and today, I got my first Creating Keepsakes magazine that will be finishing out my subscription. Now don't get me wrong, I like CK magazine. It has Ali Edwards, one of my most favorite scrap celebs out there, but its not the same.
Reason 2. M.E. is feeling better today, but the Little Guy is feeling worse. He coughed all night long, poor guy. He laid on the couch all day and refused to eat, a big sign that he is sick. After mowing the yard (before it rains), I came in and he said, "Mom, I sick, I go doctor". So I immediately call the doctor and got an appointment for after school. I took his temp and it was 102.5 and I actually think it got higher than that while waiting in the doctors office. The doctor did a strep test and it was negative, so its likely a sinus infection, so antibiotics to the rescue. He was simply miserable, but still cute.
Reason 3. Upon leaving the doctor's office, we head straight to Buddy's scheduled baseball game. The rain gets there the same time we did. (That makes 4) We went ahead and took the field, but the umpire's wound up calling the game off - after we had stood out in the rain for at least 20 minutes. The kiddos were soaked to the bone. Buddy exclaimed, "even my underwear is wet!" Sorry, no pic of this, but it was funny. Little Guy is still miserable, but I've got some antibiotics in him now, so hopefully he's on the mend.

Gotta love Mondays!

Sneezy, Sleepy, & Grumpy (3 out of 7 here)

Spent the day blowing my nose and it rained, that makes 3 days!

"Forget It Dude, Let's Go Bowling!"

I have sneezed more today than I have breathed. I've been miserable. Whatever grass, weeds, mold, rain, etc that grows here has M.E. and the Little Guy all out of sorts. He has had a runny nose and congestion all week and now I've got it. UGH! And you would think with the rain it would be better that it would damper the pollens, but its not, perhaps its the rain we are allergic too.
It has rained all week and there' s no end in sight. It even rained yesterday, the first day of the month. My Grandmaw in KY always said, that if it rained on the first day of the month you'd have 15 days of rain that month. Well, I don't know if this is true for OK, but it rained today so that's 2. We'll keep counting.
So in the middle of rain showers and sneezing, the Man and M.E. decided it was time to get ready for our bowling party. We were to participate in a school sponsored bowling party tonight and we've known this for over a month. We also knew that we needed to don are best bowling attire, so why we waited until the day of, hours before, to get our outfits together is beyond M.E.
Off to Goodwill we go to get some button-ups as our shirts, and its then that I realize we are missing the Derby, the KY DERBY. What? I've not missed the Derby in like 20 years, not really, but I like to watch it being from KY and all. I heard later that a 50 to 1 horse won, which is always exciting.
I convinced the Man that our shirts would look awesome if we painted them with a bowling motif. He was skeptical but agreed. Here he is "fixing" to paint the shirts.

I think they turned out pretty fabulous for a last minute dig. And we were the only ones who actually made their own shirts verses buy them. We had a really good time and it was nice to hang out with some of the school parents and get to know them better. Here's some pics.
The Hosts for the evening.
The Man bowling, although I'm not sure about that form.
And of course, George Clooney would win the best dressed award!
Good Times!

BROWNIES!

I had an absolute fabulous time at the Brownie (Girl Scout) meeting this afternoon. I am so not used to doing art projects with girls. They are so neat and orderly and know what they like.
It was so fun and I think the girls really liked their projects and were excited to give them to their Moms for Mother's Day. Here's *C*, she's the group leaders daughter, isn't she too gorgeous, showing off her project.
A future Cowboy, she went with all orange.

I'm here!

I apologize to my loyal readers who check in on us daily and find no new updates. It's just been so busy this week. The Man has already asked why it is I have to volunteer for everything they (school & church) ask M.E. to?

1. Because I can
2. Because I need it
3. Because they need it
4. Because my kids need to see it
5. Because it blesses M.E.!
