Day 8 - Headed East

It's hard to believe its already time to head home. We have had a fabulous time visiting with Grandpa and Nana and visiting all the beautiful sites of AZ. We headed back up to Flagstaff (a wonderful town) before making our first stop of the day at Meteor Crater National Monument.

We had original stopped here on the way out, but we arrived at 5:45 and the park closed at 5 and were turned away. As it was one of the big things the Man wanted to see, we arrived bright and early today.

Its hard to show in pictures just how large this crater is. But its huge!

There really wasn't much to do after you climb to the top, so we just took a break from being in the van and hung out awhile. Its not the best photo, but it most certainly captures us. Buddy looking through the telescope at the clouds, Little Guy hiding, and M.E. trying to get out of the picture. It was a cloudy day, so the weather was great for taking a rest.

Back on the road, we only had to go about 5 hours to Albuquerque, NM. The Man has a friend living there that he hasn't seen in 20 years and they managed to get in touch & plan for us to spend the night there. Good thing too, because we are tired of driving.
