How Quickly Time Goes By

I can't believe I didn't blog all week. I had every intention. but excuses, excuses. Here goes...

The first day of preschool, Babe fell asleep in the Man's arms on the couch.  How sweet is that?  He has been so worn out from school and actually sleeping at night. yay!
Buddy and his friends at the school back-to-school picnic last Friday.
Buddy and LG on the diving boards at the 4th grade party.  Yes, that's Buddy flipping in the air.  He is amazing at what he'll try and can do.
 This guys is just hilarious.
Yesterday morning, I woke up after a full night's sleep.  Twice that's happen this week. Wow!  I immediately went straight to Babe's room and he wasn't there and so I headed straight to Buddy's room and sure enough - all three of them were piled in his bed.  Love it!

Another busy weekend ahead with a sleepover, College soccer game, and a soccer scrimmage.

Random Thoughts + photos

We are back into full swing of things with school underway and everything filling up the calendar yet again.  I may complain sometimes, but I do really like a full calendar, full life and having experiences with the kiddos.

I realized I have several photos on my phone that I've not shared, so here goes.

A week ago Friday, the temperature here in our corner of OK actually dipped into the 60s for the first time since probably April.  We (or rather I) had hoped to get out and go camping, but with school activities ramping up, that wasn't possible, so instead, the Man took the big boys to the drive-in movies.  This is Buddy and his good friend from school (whose practically an honorary family member) in the back of the Man's truck.  They had a really awesome time and didn't get home until 2 AM. Yes, that's right - they watched a double feature and got home well after Babe and M.E. were asleep.
That same weekend was LG's back-to-school party.  It was at a local church gym where the kids could run, play basketball or roller skate.  LG made one loop around the carpet and called it quites although he was actually doing pretty good toward the end.
A small snapshot of him and some of his classmates.  I can hardly believe he is in 1st grade. Oh my!
Fruit Salad has been a favorite the last few weeks.  Babe really like using a toothpick more than eating the fruit.
At the doctor office for LGs 1st grade physical.  It sometime a major reality check for M.E. to know that I am raising three big boys.  Wow.
Noteworthy... I some times have good luck. Last Tuesday, in the rush to get LG to speech right after school (which was the first day of school) and to get Buddy to the library to get a Book-of-the-Month Club book and to have an early supper before soccer practice, I decided to call in for pizza. As luck would have it, they made a mistake on my order and I got a whole second pizza for free.  It was rather nice in amongst all the chaos of the afternoon.... and then Buddy's practice was cancelled due to lightning in the area.  (secretly that's more good luck for M.E.)
A sign he's growing up!  Last week for whatever reason I can't remember Buddy was since to his room to chill out for a bit.  Normally this would result in whining, trashing his room, pouting and any number of acting out behaviors, but instead this time he cleaned and organized his top drawer into three nice sections - underwear, sports socks and school socks.  It was such a moment that I indeed did take a picture and am now blogging about it.
Moving on....
On Saturday, I attended the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Convention.  And let M.E. just say I had been planning this day and saving my money since May 6 (the day I registered).  I was so excited for this to be my day, but you know what, I was disappointed.  I got a lot of cool stuff and the kits from my classes are fantastic and worth every dime, but the classes themselves were extremely basic.  I had some women in the class ask what Kraft cardstock was and another ask how to cut a 7x5 and a 7x7 piece of cardstock from one sheet of 12x12.  I know I get impatient, but seriously if you are a scrapbooker, these things should be done in your sleep.    That's all I'm going to say about that.  But my products and purchases are fantastic and I can't wait to really dive into them and makes stuff.
In the meantime, the Man had all the boys and his first stop was soccer practice with Buddy.  And while there it began to rain, much need rain for us.  Anyhow, he put LG and Babe in the van to wait and stay dry until practice was over.  Believe it or not, my van is clean, well not technically clean but there's nothing in it and the floor were vacuumed a week ago, but that's not the point. The point is that Babe managed to unearth a sharpie from somewhere I neglected to clean.
Thus I now have a nice mural on my drivers seat.  I'm calling it "A Late-Summer Rainshower"  - if you use your imagination I think you can see the hills and the rainbow and the eagle flying by with perhaps a lightning strike and a star.   He's talented that one!

Well, that's whats been going on and as always its an adventure worth having!!!!!!

First Day of PreSchool

The Babe is officially a Bunny!
He was very excited about the big (hand-me-down) backpack.
 It was a little heavy.
I just can't believe how big he is and how quickly time flies.
He was so ready to play and quickly put his things away and headed to the toys.  He even forgot to hug M.E. goodbye, but did!
Hope he likes it and that he has a good day!

First Day of School

Here we are yet again with the first day of school.  Buddy said this morning, he couldn't believe it and then he followed that statement with, "we'll blink and it'll be the last day - insane".  I couldn't agree more.
Buddy was up and completely dressed before I got up at 6:30.  He was a little anxious as was LG.

But once they got there, they were ready for the day.  I can't wait to hear all their stories and what they liked best.  my guess it will be PE and lunch.

The Babe has already asked 3 times where they are.  Its going to be a long day for him.  But he'll go a half day tomorrow to the Bunny (2 year old) preschool class.

It's all happening again!

Stunt Doubles

At least they have helmets on! Happy Summer!

Last Day of Summer

School starts in the morning and while I am excited for the change and start the routine, its bittersweet.
I can't believe that Buddy is going into the 4th grade.  We got his packet out and ready and he'll be doing a 1-page written report each month as well as read a book.  Wow, that's a work load we are not used too.
LG is excited but I'm a little nervous, because rumor has it there's 33 kiddos in his class. I realize there's two teachers and they are rarely all together, but still that creates gaps for kids to fall through and it just makes me nervous and unhappy.  But he's ready for it.
Babe is really excited for the Bunny Class from 9:30 to 2:30 four days a week. It'll be great.
And I'll be working in the church office three days a week and I'll looking forward to getting to work and having the extra cash.
We've had a good summer and it's moved so quickly as it always does.  Here's to summer and looking forward to school.  I'll try to post pics tomorrow!

Sewing Day

I spent the morning sewing odds and ends as well as getting Babe's things ready for preschool. He picked out his fabric yesterday and was very sure of his choice. He is pretty excited to use his nap mat and pillow! I'm just happy to make it for him.

LEGOS, LEGOS, LEGOS

One of the main activities the boys do when it's hot outside and its not tv time, is play legos. This is what my living room currently looks like.

It's H-O-T, hot!

It's been over 110 the last 4 days and I'm not happy about it! So I broke down bd loaded the boys up to go to our YMCA for a dip in the indoor pool. Not quite cool but not the same has swimming outside in the blazing sun! Babe did really well listen and staying close while making our way to the pool and once there never complained once about wearing a life jacket. Thanks Gramma for making him so comfortable with them while we were at your house!
Buddy and LG also stayed close be ME in the pool and we got to swim for an hour! We can home very hungry and tired, which is a very good thing having been cooped up in the house for 3 days!

He's beginning a new chapter!

Today, Buddy cooked his own scrambled eggs from beginning to end! He was so excited! I was nervous of him burning himself, a little sad that he's growing up, but most of all proud that he's interested in cooking and helping out! He has always been very thoughtful and now he's really starting to help out around the house more- although I think that has something to do with earning money. Haha!
