Babe and his Aunt Cream

Babe and I have flown back to KY for the weekend. Sman was baptized. I don't have pics because I wanted to watch. Perhaps someone will email ME some.
Sunday after the baptizing we stopped to eat some yummy home cooking at a local restaurant and Babe was loving on his Aunt Cream.

I don't know who was having more fun- him or Cream?

I'm a big boy!

So as you may have realized by now I'm digging my iPhone. It's wonderful for moments like this.

I didn't feel like taking in the carseat and I didn't have my sling with ME so the Babe got to sit in the cart for this first time.

I can't believe how big he is already.
The iPhone also helps when I have my hands full and the wandering adventurer - the Man returns home.

Or it helps ME captures this cute moment when Babe flirts with one of Buddy's classmates.

OKay, I (heart) my iPhone!

And I can post all of this from soccer practice.

Carrots

Nana and I cooked some carrots for the Babe. His first real food in hopes he would like it and sleep better.

Don't think he liked it much and there ended being more on his bib than in his belly.

Happy Wednesday!

We have been having so much fun with Nana. I've truly had a vacation from the chaos that is usually my routine. I am not ashes to say that I've not washed a stitch of clothes or a dish since she has arrived and it has been wonderful for ME. Thanks Nana. So here's spittle run down of what we've been up to.
Saturday
I got a sitter so Nana and I could go to a local arts & crafts fair. It was really nice to get to see everything and of course I made a few purchases. Wanted to get this but thought I could probably make it for Babe myself.

How cut is that.

It was Buddy's 2nd soccer game. Sorry I didn't blog about the first but the pics are on the computer and that I don't have. So Buddy did pretty good at listening and sharing the ball. I was very proud of him.

I didn't manage but one pic and that was him coming off the field. it was hot - mean HOT. We were all dying and Nana and I both were trying to keep Babe put of the sun and cool, but it wasn't happening, so she wound up going to the van with him.
The boys would win though 6-4. Awesome. We are currently 2-0 for the season. Buddy is very happy about that.
Sunday
We went to the school bookfair after church and I let each of the boys pick out something. LG got a Cars the movie book and Buddy got the first 16 magic tree house books.

I was really happy with his choice and found him reading several times. It was great.
Tuesday
Another busy day here. LG had speech after we took Buddy to school.

Here is outside by the fountain. He's not having as much success this as last with his new teacher. LG is her very first client ever so he's pretty much walking all over her.

But he's too cute and trying to practice his words.
In the afternoon we would head to soccer practice followed immediately by football.

Buddy us in the blue shirt.

He made several pretty awesome plays.

They practice several pass plays with Buddy as a receiver and he did fabulous at catch and running with the ball. There was even a fifth grade brother helping out with practice and Buddy totally got right past him.
Meanwhile LG hung out in the van.

What a face.
It also came a quick 30 second down pour which created this.

It was so pretty.

After practice.

What a kid!

How we spent the Man's birthday

So the Man has a field class on South Carolina this week, Charleston to be exact. Lucky him!
So this morning we had to get up before dawn 3:30 is still the middle of the night for ME and take him to the airport. Nana flew in on Wednesday night to be with ME and the boys such a blessing, so I didn't have to take all the middle to be airport too.
The boys didn't have school today either so we had a great day, slept late, then headed to chuck e cheese with some friends. Always a good time.

I had trouble getting LG to be still for a pick.

Later in the day Buddy and I made a bunch of new mii characters which was so much fun. He is very creative and funny.
In the afternoon and heat of the day he had soccer practice.

Buddy needs to learn how to pass and not be a ball hog.

Like I said it was really hot again so Nana, LG, Babe and I stay in the van mostly.

They read a new Star Wars book I got at the school bookfair. LG loved having Nana read and learn about the guys.

Buddy had a little chat with his coach about passing and stating in position. Good luck with that one, coach.

We had a good Friday and are really happy to have Nana with us. Happy Birthday to the Man! We love and miss you!

Can You Read This

The Man is going out of town leaving M.E. Computers less so I thought I better figure out a way for this iPhone to come to my aid once again.

Babe sitting in the van with ME waiting for Buddy.
I hope this works.

Spirit Day

A*W*E uh, huh
S*O*M*E that's right
[Our School] Awesome are We!
Buddy's cheer.

Buddy and LG would both get to participate in our school's spirit day.
Buddy could hardly contain himself and stay seated during the cheering, yelling and goofiness.
I took a bunch of pictures but few are worth viewing because with the terrible gym lighting, squirmming kids, and people moving about its near impossible to get a pic.

After the big school did their cheers and chants, the preschool was invited in. I managed this decent pic of LG waving his pompom wildly.  It was awesome. He was so cute.

Buddy with his 8th grade Friend.  How cool is the cheese head?

I returned home and actually took a nap with Babe.  He got M.E. up 5 times last night and I've been a zombie all day.  Needless to say, I've gotten very little to nothing accomplished today - went to school and back twice and that's it.
Wish M.E. better luck tonight.

We awoke to...........

a *FLASH* and a *POW*
then silence.

The transformer outside our bedroom window blew a fuse at 6:30AM this morning.
What a way to start the day.

Buddy had to get ready for school by flashlight.

LG would walk around the house half scared saying,
"I want it to get hunny now" (think sunny).

We'd give him a flashlight and he went back to bed.
By 8:30 the lights were back on, thanks to this guy.

Hooray for long telescopic poles that can flip a switch 30 feet in the air.

Labor Day

The weather has finally given in and allowed a breather for all of us in OK.  Its in the 80s for the frist time since June - I think.  Its amazing how refreshing it is and how everyone feels the same way.  At school pick up, everyone is out of their cars talking and chatting and catching up in the nice, almost cool breeze.  On Friday the playground was packed after school.  We've all been cooped up in our air condition houses, schools, and cars too long.
With this most pleasant break in the heat and a three day weekend approaching, the Man and I both agreed we had to get away, had to take advantage of the weather, and had to have some time to just be a family.  After about an hour of surfing the world wide web, we came across alittle lake and recreation area in Arkansas that would be perfect and booked a cabin for Sunday night.  We were lazy about getting the camping gear assembled & ready and opted for a cabin.  What a wonderful idea!

We took our time Sunday morning getting everyone up and ready and left the house about 10.  It was such a gorgeous day.  We headed East on a road we've never been on, which was refreshing and took our sweet time.
First stop was a state park here in OK, Natural Falls.  The name is very original. We would enjoy a packed lunch and some nice cool breezes.

Cute little park in the middle of nowhere.  We actually missed the road and had to back track.  Thank You iPhone maps!

With the drought that has consumed us this summer the large falls, which would normally be flowing over the top of the outcrop was dry - I'm thinking Unnatural Falls.

M.E. and Babe.  I love my sling.  And after the huge climb back up to the top of this outcrop, I was grateful my hands were free to use the handrails - I need them for support.  I also got several comments from other visitors wishing they too had such a contraption, as strollers couldn't nagivate the stairs.

At least the water table was still running and we got to see and hear the wonderful sound of falling water.  It was nice and rejuvinating to listen to.  I would have loved to stay longer but there wasn't very good railing on the little deck and LG was bound and determined to fall in the pool, so we cut our visit short.
I love these kinds of pics.  Thanks to the Man for taking all the pics on this adventure as my hands were full.  My boys are getting so big.

Later we would cross the state line and make our way to the cutest little lake.

The cute little one room cabin, with air condition and no tv.  It was perfect.

A quick change and the boys were ready for the lake.  I can not stress enough how awesome it was.  The weather was PERFECT.
The boys were so excited, unfortunately the water levels were high and there wasn't much of a sandy beach to play on.  But the boys went right on in the water.
They are hard to see, but they are out there having a blast.  LG would break one of his arm floaties the first 30 seconds in the water and the Man would stuff it under his swim shirt.  He looked like a shark swimming around with a big hump back.

The batteries in the camera would go out on M.E., I forgot to change them before leaving the van.  So the next couple of pics are from the iPhone camera.  Thanks again iPhone!

M.E. and Babe sittin' in the shade.  I am not in bathing suit shape - not at all.

A little bright and over exsposed but you can see the happiness on his face.

Buddy after swimming.

The Man - always working.

Look at this adorable Little Guy.  He says,
"Mom, I need an apple pie" Too funny!

Back at the cabin the Man and I work on getting some supper going and hanging out with the boys.  They really didn't know what to think about the no TV cabin, but it turned out to be no big deal, I'd brought enough activities.
The Man grilling some pork chops.

M.E. and the boys!  Thanks again iPhone for some before dinner entertaiment for Buddy.
Didn't take us long to make a mess of the place.
Opposite view.
The Greatest View.

Later on, we loaded up and headed into town, for supplies and ice cream.  Using the iPhone I was able to locate a local ice cream palor.  Thanks again iPhone!
Maggie Moos - similar to Cold Stone or Marble Slab Creameries.  It was yummy!

Buddy got cotton candy and LG strawberry.

Can't wait for Babe to get to eat some cream.

What a face.

Some playing and loving before bed.
Oh brothers!

The next day we would take our time to pack up after breakfast.

Buddy getting his pole ready for fishing.

LG found a rock.

We headed to the lake for some fishing.  The Babe and I hung out at the van and enjoyed another wonderful day, while the men fished.

The Man caught one bluegill.
Buddy caught a turtle.

We would then head home and enjoy the rest of our three day weekend.  It was so refreshing, rejuvinating and rewarding to get away - just the five of us!
Hope you had a Happy Labor Day!
