Thanksgiving Vacation

We had a wonderful trip back to KY. I'm so glad the Man suggested a week because it was great.  Although it rained the first three days and the boys had to stay indoors due to the weather and hunting season still being in, they still had a blast with Aunt Cream and the family.
We spent Thanksgiving at Aunt M's.  My boys love her farm so much, its just perfect for the views and running around.

It blows my mind at how tall Sman is getting.  He'll soon be a teenager. yikes.  But it didn't stop him from playing with my boys and being a great big cousin to them.  The Dads and Papaws took all the kids for a hike on their farm. Uncle D has bought a little super lite airplane and is in the process of building a small air strip and hanger.  The kids loved playing there and Babe walked the whole way there and most of the way back, sorry I didn't get a pic.

On Friday the weather was perfect without a cloud in the sky. So we all got ready for hike in the woods.

The Man, LG, Sman, Babe, Buddy, Mo and Aunt Cream walking ahead of M.E. on our hike.

Buddy really wanted to knock down some dead trees like Sman had talked about, so here he and the Man push and yell timber.
Mo and Buddy in front of an old deer stand, not sure who built it or when, but the kids thought is was pretty cool.

Babe had a blast.  He did a really good job at hiking. We had to carry him most of the time, but when he did walk he had so much fun picking up sticks and run to catch up with the big kids.
We had such a good time and it was hard to leave as always.  LG loves the country and was really sad.  He called the trip a vacation to Aunt Creams.  He only stayed at Mamaw and Papaw's two nights otherwise he never left Aunt Cream and Uncle Cola's house.  Until next time... we love and miss yall.

Christmas Tree and my Birthday

Today is my birthday!  I can't believe I'm 36!  How is that possible? At any rate, I have been blessed beyond belief and look forward to many more.
As we returned to OK, I had no intention of getting the house ready for Christmas, but LG wanted to so badly, as he helped Aunt Cream with her tree and we saw so many lights on the drive home, so we loaded up today and headed out in search of a Christmas tree.
Babe was happy to be outside and running around.

He ran and ran and ran!!
LG was in heaven. I think he loves Christmas as much as Nana!

Buddy and M.E.  It was really cold when the breeze was blowing. I think winter is finally settling in here in OK.  I had to use my scarf to cover my ears. The Man was teasing M.E. calling me Jackie O.  I took it as a complement.

Narrowing it down to our favorite pines.
Love this shot.  Genuine love between these two!

Had to take a hayride.  What would the tree farm be without it.   In the end, we wouldn't cut a pine.  They just aren't what we like, so the Man picked out a pre-cut noble fir shipped in from Oregon.  it was perfect.
Our tree with lights. We decided to no put on the ornaments for now.  Babe is obsessed with it already and we knew he would just pulled them all down and break them.  I kind of like the simpleness.  I'm sure I can't stand it for long though. I love my ornaments and will get a few out later when the new has worn off and put some on. Plus the ones we will get this season.

LG was so excited.  First thing he asked was, how many sleeps til Christmas? Only 4 weeks. yikes!  I need to start shopping.

FYI - the boys are happy!

We arrived in Kentucky Saturday night. Since then the boys have consumed enough super to do them a month and enough hugs, kisses and love to do them a good couple of days.
As always Aunt Cream rules and they are having the best time ever!

PS- the Man and ME were able to catch a matinee of Twilight: Breaking Dawn part I, yesterday and it was awesome. Loved, loved, loved it!

I'm still here!

Somedays I have every intention of blogging but it just doesn't happen and I have many excuses...
1 - I have three boys that I'm chasing in three different directions.
2 - I have dedicated the majority of my computer time to working on our church youth program.  Its a long story, but basically M.E. and my friend Carrie are acting as youth directors for our new program that we hope to launch in January.
3 - I've had my moms group meeting all about advent, I've had PTO meetings and PTO dinners.
4 - Buddy has scored touchdowns in the last two football games, WINNING touchdowns and its been wonderful. Unfortunately the games are at night and I can't take pictures of any quality. Ugh!
5 - As of yesterday afternoon, I officially have a cold. major drainage and kleenex usage happening here. The Man had it last week and now Buddy and I both have it.  Buddy even woke M.E. up at 2:30 this morning asking if there was anything he could do to clear all the snot.  He was very upset that he couldn't breathe.  I feel for him.
6 - Babe decided to get back in the bathtub after he was completely dressed including his socks & shoes. I hadn't let the water out either.  He was late for MDO.
7 - LG and I worked on his Tom Turkey Disguise project for school.  Tom Turkey doesn't want hunters to know he's a turkey so we have to disguise him.
Surprise, Surprise its a Harry Potter disguise.
8 - I went to a scrapbooking crop for 6 hours on Saturday. ahhh, it was so wonderful. I got all the foundation pages pretty much done for my December Daily album. I'm really excited to be doing this project again.
9 -Duck Season is in. Do I need to explain what's on the Man's mind?
10 - Ten days until my birthday - not that I'm counting.
11- I had every intention of taking 11 photos on 11-11-11. but I didn't even touch the camera the whole day.  I took Babe to Mothers Day Out, then went to school to work for LG's teacher a couple of hours, then I grabbed lunch in the cafeteria before having a meeting with the church music director followed by a meeting with the church communications director, then raced to get Babe, then back to school to get the boys. After school, the Man had the 3rd and 4th grade doing baseball drills (YES, baseball in November). LG had soccer and I chased Babe. This was all immediately followed by one of LGs big birthday gifts from us - a playdate with 4 Kindergarten friends.
12 - there's always 12-12-12!
13 - Back to the playdate - the five 6 year olds chased Buddy who was pretending to be a ghost, and Babe just ran around and screamed having the time of his life.  It was very successful and everyone had a good time, even Buddy who wound up with a black eye by taking a knee to the face.  Its all yellow and green now.
14 - I'm going to go blow my nose about 100 more times today and rest. Nothing on the calendar or agenda today. ahhh - now that's refreshing.
15 - I'm taking comfort in the pound of pinto beans simmering in the crockpot for supper tonight!

LG's birthday night

LG was pretty excited to get to open presents, but he was patience enough to wait for Buddy to get home from soccer practice.
He got a really cool dinosaur book!
LEGOs... They are obsessed with them.  We bought this particular set for a friend back in June and he's wanted it ever since.
Yep, I think he was pretty happy about it.
The Man picked out this super hero outfit of a non specific character and it was great.
He has such a wonderful imagination, it was perfect.
One of his other gifts was his very own head lamp.  Again, this suited him just right.
Babe had no idea what was going on, but wanted to be in the middle of it.  Buddy got a little present to open as well and I think LG had a very happy birthday.
Thanks for all the cards, comments and phone calls.  He felt very special.

Happy Birthday, Little Guy!

Its so hard for M.E. to believe that six years ago, the Little Guy was born.

He has been so excited and happy for this day to come.  I managed a few pics before heading out the door.

Happy Birthday, LG... we love you so much and are very proud of you!

PS.... I've posted pics from this past week below.

Muffins with Mom

Today was Muffins with Mom for the Kindergarteners... Too awesome.

As part of the special day, the kiddos wrote recipes for the Moms and made a recipe book.

LG's recipe was for Blueberry Pancakes
Take blueberries, bread and a little magic.
Mix the blueberries, break and the magic together.
Bake for 25 cents!

Sewing

So last week between Earthquakes, Flash Flood Warnings, Tornado Watches and Severe Thunderstorms (yes all that on Monday), I managed to sit at my sewing machine during Babe's nap times to make a few things.
First up, the new style of Dresses for Haiti.
It probably would have helped if I'd cleaned the mirror before taking the picture, but that would have been too much work. Anyhow, they are the new pillow case style dresses that we are making for Haiti.  They take less fabric than the bid style dress and are simpler to sew.  This is a girls size 14 which I was able to slip on for the pic. I even learned how to make a button hole with my sewing machine for the tie. This was also my fourth one! I made three at the sewing circle a week or so ago.
Second, pants for Babe.
Once the sewing bug bite M.E I wasn't satisfied with just a dress.
I turned THIS- the Man's t-shirt.
(Sorry Nana, its a 2010 shirt and the Man rarely if ever wore it)
INTO -
little pants for Babe with the help of YouTube.
As he is messy and running around like crazy we tend to go through several outfits a day and with his season being different from the brothers, I don't have that many 18 months clothes, so I made some!  woohoo!
I also made a shirt to go with them, but didn't manage a pic. sorry.  I will later.

Kindergarten Birthday Party

This weekend the 5 birthday kiddos from kindergarten gather at the local bounce place for a group birthday party.  I love group birthday parties, because they are easy and much cheaper.  The kiddos had a really good time.
The Birthday Kiddos!
Its really hard to get good pictures in the bounce rooms, as they are large and the lighting isn't great, plus the kids won't be still.  Here I managed to get LG to sit(lay) for a second.
Babe hung out with the Man the first half hour, then we took him into the party and he had a blast on the little slide.  Buddy was too busy running and playing to get a picture.
LG sits next to this little sweetie and has lots of stories from school that include her, so it was great that they have birthday's within a week of each other, to share this day! LG never looks at M.E. when I have the camera. ugh!

Another One

Wow! 5.6 earthquake shook Oklahoma last night about 11PM and it was scary.
The Man and I were watching a movie and the earth started to rumble and we both sat straight up and felt, watched and listen as it got bigger, louder and stronger. So strong that the entire house was shaking and I took off for the boys room to make sure no pictures were falling off the walls onto them. The Man was on my heels checking on Buddy, who woke up.
The whole thing lasted about 30 to 40 seconds but it felt very long. It was also surprising loud. The feeling of helpless is not something I recommend for anyone because it's pretty scary. I don't know how the folks in California could ever get so used to them as they are. It was crazy and I'm so glad I was still awake. It'd been much worse had I been asleep and woken by the house shaking.
On the news last night, they showed a house that lost a lot of bricks off the front of their house - just a few miles from here. And we are about 60 miles from the epicenter, so I'd say there was so serious damage from this one!
Wow!

Earthquake

The Babe was up many times last night, which meant that I was up many times and for a long time trying to get back to sleep.  It was during this time of trying to get back to sleep around 2:00 AM this morning that I was startled by a moving bed.
At first I thought one of the boys had jumped or bumped into the bed, but as I sat up and woke completely up, I realized that there was no one in the room and in fact my bed was moving.  I have several necklaces hanging around the corner of my dresser mirror and they too were swaying and clinking into the mirror.
I immediately got up and ran to the boys room.  The Man had fallen asleep with Buddy, so I woke him up.
I told him I was crazy and think we just had an earthquake.  He agreed I was crazy and went back to sleep, but I couldn't sleep.  I went to the living room to turn on the news, but there wasn't a thing worth watching. I did notice that the movement must have moved the computer mouse, as the screensaver so was no longer on - but the desktop.
So, to my phone I went and google the usgs (united state geologic survey) and sure enough there was a 4.7 earthquake just east of Oklahoma City at 2:15 this morning.  Since that time there have been 6 aftershocks.  Wow - so I'm now crazy!

Pumpkins

BOO - the Man, jack-o-lantern - Buddy, scary face - M.E., cute face - LG!
The boys didn't dress up last night.  They decided to lay in the back of the Man's truck and scare trick o treaters as they stopped by for candy.  We had approximately 140 kiddos come by and ran out of an enormous basket of candy at 8:00.

Happy Halloween!
