I'm here!

Sorry to have fallen of the blog wagon again, but its super busy and I've barely picked up the camera. The Man was gone to Texas on a drill rig all last week and it makes things a bit more stressful when he is gone - not to mention all the school activities.
So here's a quick rundown of last week -
laundry - lots of laundry due to two sets of uniforms now.
completed LG's pilot costume
cable guy came for our internet
after school meeting with Buddy's teacher - he's socializing too much
Cub Scout pack night with all three boys
the Kindergarten group picture at 7:20 AM
Babe had open house at his Mothers Day Out
Youth Group planning meeting with all three boys
LG had his snack day
lots of work on a scrapbook for the school's silent auction due next week
Parent Night at school for both boys
Babe's first day of Mothers Day Out
lots of research for the 3rd grade auction project
lunch meeting with the other two home room moms for Buddy's class
LG soccer practice in 101 degree heat
as well as, 3 sets of homemade lunches, about 12 poopy diapers, daily showers/baths, breakfast-lunches-dinners....and I'm trying to enjoy every minute. But I did manage to snap this pic of Babe.

Yes, that is my toaster.  Its home is in the lower cabinet where I use it most.  This particular day Babe managed to get it out of the cabinet and pull it around the house like a puppy on a string.  It was hilarious.
All in a day's adventure.
Hope to get back on the blog wagon this week.  Stay Tuned!

Random Colorado Pictures

Now that I have a computer on the internet again (woohoo) I though I'd share some of the great pictures from our July trip to Colorado!  Takes M.E. away to cooler temps.
We stopped on the side of the road to throw rocks in a little pond and stretch our legs..  I had the boys show M.E. just how excited they were to be in the mountains!
This was hilarious because we live near the Arkansas River here in Oklahoma and its nearly a half mile wide.  So when we were driving and saw a sign that said Arkansas River and this is what it was referring to, we totally cracked up.  Come to find out, we were very near the head waters for the Arkansas and so this little stream really is the same river.
The Aspen Village we stayed in.  Ahh, it was beautiful.
 On our mountain hike!
Zoomed in... you see The Man, Babe and LG.
Columbine! The beautiful and fragile state flower of Colorado!
At the top of the hike was an alpine lake!  I didn't get a shot with my phone for the original post, so here it is.
The Family

We had so much fun. I wish we could go back!

Gramma's Infamous Waffles

Today I decided to try my hand at making Gramma's waffles. For those of you not on the west coast and have not experiences a morning at the beach - Gramma's Waffles rank right up there with the breathe-taking sunsets and fresh boiled crab!

This last trip I witnessed and devoured many of said waffles and was wise enough to ask Gramma the specifics of her waffles and put in my phone. Thus this morning (after I got the Man out of bed to go get more eggs) I recreated to the best of my ability her waffles!

Buddy ate 7 and I got comments like "wow", "best yet" & "awesome".

Thanks Gramma for sharing you recipe and know-how. Your waffles will feed many more Bluhms!!!

Day 2 of CKC

I got up and out early this morning for a 8:30AM class.
I was so excited again for all things I would learn and make.
Class 1 was Scrapping on a Dime. We learned how to take 6 sheets of double sided paper and make 12 layouts! Twelve! It was great and teacher was from Georgia and hoot to hang out with.
Class 2 was Creating Keepsakes 15 minute Pages. Wow! Loved the paper pack in this class!

It was so much fun and I won a prize!

I have no idea why this pic is sideways. And with my phone I can't flip it. Ugh! But I won this book which I've almost bought before so it's nice to add to my collection!

Class 3 was a Studio Calico FabRips class. Studio calico is based in Bowling Green and it my new favorite thing! I will be asking for gift certificates and/or membership to this kit club! It's fantastic!

I learned how to spray mist and make a mini album - my boys! Again, I'm in love with this product line and gallery!

Class 4 was my most anticipated. A Faber-Castell mixed media class. I learned how to use gelatos, gel medium, aqua pencils and other very cool stuff.

It was very artsy and I had a really good time! The teacher said my work was great and she really liked it! Woohoo!

It's hard to see, but here's some of the little things I made in that class!

I had a great time obviously but I have to admit I missed my boys. Leaving the house at 8 and not getting home until after 5 made for a very long day!
Now all I need to do is finish the projects and add pictures! Easier said than done!

A Fun M.E. Day

Day 1 of the Creating Keepsakes Convention. Woohoo!
I've never been to a scrapbooking convention before and I was so excited that it would be worth the money.
It was! I was really happy with the vendor fair and my first class.

ME in front of the Technique Tuesday booth. Loved it!
I also met a lady from Plano, KY working the Studio Calico booth. It was crazy. That's like a half hour from my folks and if you go on the other direction there's a community called Rocky Hill and there was another booth PK Glitz and the owners live in Rocky Hill. It was so crazy! I talked to them all for a long time. Refreshing!

My Class today was Perspectives by Ali Edwards and I loved it, although Ali wasn't there! I made four 12x12 layouts. Yeah!

Tomorrow I have 3 classes and I'm so excited! It truly had been a great day!

First Day of School for LG

Little Guy isn't so little anymore. It's with tear-filled eyes I post these few pics.

He was so excited. He wore his uniform with pride and was walking 10feet tall.

He got busy with his coloring sheet and when I kissed him one more time before leaving, he said "Mommy don't cry please". Oh I love him so much.

Good Luck, Little Guy. We are so proud of you and look forward to all your adventures!

First Day of Third Grade

Buddy was beyond excited. It makes ME so happy that he loves school and his friends so much. He says it's the best school ever and I think he might be right.
I didn't manage but about five pictures as the front of school is under construction so we had to go in through the church then coral in the gym. It was almost anti-climatic without getting to really see and visit friends and the other families in the parking lot like before.
We also didn't get back from our trip to Washington until 9PM so no hair cut. I'm sure we will get a note. But at least we made it and he was excited.

Good luck Buddy. We love you so much!

More Vacation Pics

We have had a wonderful time enjoying the nice weather - its been so refreshing. Highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s. Wow! We've actually used the heater in the motorhome.

Babe didn't know what to think about being on the horse. He was not really scared but he really didn't like it much either.

We've spent the last 2 days out at the beach with Gramma- which was the LIFE. It was fantastic.

Some of the bigger cousins took the little cousins out in the bay for a boat ride. LG said he was scared a whale would eat him. He's too funny.

Love this shot of Gramma and Babe. He had so much fun out there.

LG taking his turn in the sand.

Tonight kicks off the three days if reunion business. It should be fun.

Sorry for my absence.

It's just busy again and with out a computer blogging on my phone has lost it's luster.
A recap of this week then?
The Man left for Texas Sunday to hang out on a drill rig. Big fun there.
Hours after he left our electricity goes out. The boys and try to keep ourselves busy and cool for the next three hours. By the time the AC clicked back on it was already 89 degrees inside our house. I was not fun!
The boys also attended swim camp all week and did great. Buddy learned to dive.

He got moved up to the advanced class and was suppose to do more diving but the outside pool at the YMCA had a chemical issue with the heat so it was closed the rest of the week.
Each day we spent a considerable amount of time running errands. Got both boys a pair of expensive school shoes. Everyone says they will last all year so I'm hopeful.
Buddy has his school physical on Tuesday. I can't believe he is going into the third grade. How does time move so quickly.
We also went shopping for nintendo DS. I've been very much against buying one for the boys preferring they use their time more wisely, but we finally allowed LG to buy cousin Sman's with his own money. It proved helpful and not to big of a deal. However he finally dropped one too many times back in Early June so it's been out of commission all summer - not complaining, but we are about to embark in several long airplane rides without technology. So I broke down and had the thing fixed. We also went to the game store and got Buddy a used one. I know, I know - we are now a two DS family ugh!!!
I let the boys pool their money and get a new game too. Something to keep them extra occupied on the planes. And new Nerd covers so that when they get dropped which LG does often, they bounce instead of break.
Babe has learned the sign for diaper and it cracks ME up. He also developed thrust today so I had to take him to the doctor.
This morning Buddy had a friend over and we went swimming.

We've had fun and look forward to seeing the Man tonight.
Big weekend ahead then a trip to Washington. Woohoo
