Who doesn't love a bargain?

Monday, I'm back to the routine of cleaning and organizing, but thankfully the Man and the boys did some cleaning of their own last night, so today wasn't so bad. Thanks Guys!

Bargains, who doesn't love them, right? I am a huge fan and frequenter of local thrift shops and consignment shops. I can honestly say that I have purchase at retail prices approximately 10 pieces of clothes for my children in their entire lives. Their wardrobe consists of many hand-me-downs from cousins, consignment finds, and gifts from family. I just don't see the point in spending money on clothes. I don't buy clothes for myself either, which is a reason I don't really have a style because I wear whatever people give me or can find to fit at the consignment shop. Case in point I'm currently wearing socks that were a Christmas present like 3 years ago, jeans a birthday gift from my Mom like 4 years ago, t-shirt free from a school program, sweatshirt a hand-me-down from a cousin. So I purchased nothing but my underwear. But that's another story.
The only person in this house that gets new clothes is the Man. And even then its not very often or much, but he goes to work everyday in a big office & makes the money. So he needs to look good.

Anyhow my point, you're asking. Our town has a huge, and I mean HUGE consignment sale twice a year at the fairgrounds. Yes it is so big, its hosted at the expo center at the fair grounds. I heard about this sale right after I first moved here and was excited to hear about the spring one taking place this week. I asked the Man to meet me there after work to bring the boys home and let me get a jump on stopping as today was the first day.

I enter this place and they give me a 10 gallon bag as a cart. I'm like ok, this thing is huge, I could fit into this bag with no problem. Well, I quickly realize why the bag was so big, I needed that much space, as I filled the bag and wound up carrying stuff in my arms to check out.

Were they prices great? Not really. Things weren't a steal, but still they were reasonable enough for me to stock up on some new duds for the boys.

I managed to get Buddy 6 shirts, 1 pair of school pants, 2 complete outfits, & 10 pairs of socks and for Little Guy, 4 shirts, 4 complete outfits and 7 new puzzles. For a total of 41 items for $105. Not bad, not bad at all, that's about $2.65 per item. NOW THAT'S A BARGAIN!

Now for my creativity today....

Last week, I took Buddy and Little Guy to Hobby Lobby, my favorite store! I let the Buddy pick out some paper and supplies to make his birthday thank you notes. He was in the paper aisle for 30 minutes. He's so like me. He just couldn't make up his mind. Birthday themed paper, verses sparkly paper verses star paper verses football paper. Well, he settled on a sheet of birthday paper with presents and cakes on it and another sheet of star paper. I also let him get a sheet of football stickers, his favorite of the three.

So today, I used my handy-dandy Xyron sticker maker to get some stickers ready for Buddy to make his birthday thank you notes. After cutting out the cakes, stars and using my Cricut to make the word Thanks and the letter A. It is my idea for the cards to say "A [birthday cake] Thanks" and let him use the others as he'd like.
I can't wait for him to make his cards. He really loves to do things like this and it'll be fun.
Trying to be creative one day at a time.
