Ducks on the Brain!

The Man has officially caught not the swine flu, but Duck Fever. As in he is already preparing for, planning for, scouting for, and shopping for the upcoming Duck Season Nov. 7. Now....its only Oct. 9, a whole month out and I can pretty much say I can't remember him ever getting ready for anything this early. I mean, LG's birthday is that same week and he's not planning his party. But with the pending duck season a month away, he has to start now. NOW, I say. So the decoys come out of the garage and into the sun room for prepping. This means out with the old string and weights, those got tangled in the bag and were a hassle, and a necessary trip to the Bass Pro Shoppe for new string and weights. THE $$$$$ Begins. The Man has also informed M.E. that his double reed call once wet, freezes in the cold temps of OK and become useless, so he'll need a new single reed call. He would also like more decoys. We'll see about all this.

In other news, today was the first day of Buddy's fall break. Its only a 4 day weekend but it was nice not having to get up and drive them to school today. And btw (by the way) it was only 42 degrees this morning. BRRRRRRRRR!
Buddy did have a play date then once he came home, the boys had an in prompt to photo shoot with the Man and I. They are so cute.

First LG gets the camera and snaps a shot of M.E.
Then Buddy grabs the camera for a shot of M.E. and LG.
LG's Feet.
Buddy take pic of his feet.
LG grabs the camera.
LG takes Daddy's picture (he's now at Cabela.com researching).
Then LG gets artistic and takes a photos of the speaker cords with one of the many balls in the house. Please note the color and composition of the shot. He's soooo talented for 3.
Next we have a photo of the tv, which just so happens to be showing severe weather in Tennessee. We end with a Little Guy Self-Portrait

  1. Hey Sarah....one of our vocab words at school was DECOY. My kids watched it on a Peep video and were curious about decoys. I took them to your blog and showed them your story about the Man's decoys. They were impressed! Thanks for posting about it....very educational. :)
