Happy Halloween!

Got up early this morning as we were greeters at church today!  I got the boys all dolled up in their button-ups tucked in with belts and all. I wished I'd taken a picture.  They were soooo handsome.  Everyone ooohed and ahhhed at them as they held the doors open and it was too cute hearing LG say good mornin' to everyone.

After church we headed out to eat with Zkid and his family. Some yummy mexican.
Then we came home for some football and down time before any festivities.

I managed to get a few more pumpkins for us to carve and about 5:30 we headed out to the driveway to carve pumpkins and wait for trick o treaters.

The Man acted like he didn't want to be involved in the whole pumpkin carving mess, but he loved every second of it.

He assisted LG carving his little pumpkin.

I think they really enjoyed carving pumpkins and the weather was perfect.

Buddy takes his carving very seriously.

LG and his little pumpkin.

He said it was Mater the Pumpkin because it had two big teeth like Mater (from Cars the movie).  Too cute!

Babe was pretty content to hang out.

Buddy did the sketching and carving of his pumpkin completely on his own.  I think it turned out fabulous and its so cool that his can do things like this on his own. I love it so much. He's alittle bit artistic.

All our pumpkins.  I'm really glad I got a pic in the light, because the dark pictures weren't very good.

Close up: from the left - my pumpkin  (it wouldn't stand on its bottom, so I had to carve it with the steam as a nose - and I wanted it to look angry but it turned out looking asian), next is Buddy's wonderful pumpkin, then LG's little Mater Pumpkin.

Buddy started carving the other side of this, but decided he didn't want to finish it, so I turned it around and carved WKU into it.  I'm planning on sending this picture in to the Spirit Magazine and see if it can't get published.   The tiny pumpkin on the right is Babe's pumpkin.  LG totally wanted to carve it and he couldn't understand  that it wasn't hollow.

So after pumpkin carving and cleaning up our mess we got our candy ready for trick o treaters.  The boys had went to trunk o treat on Wednesday so M.E. and the Man thought it was best to have them hand out candy again this year.  And you know what it was great.  They had a really good time seeing the kids all dressed up and giving to our community.  Its not like they need more candy or even that experience of going from house to house when those houses are strangers.  And the best part, they never once complained.  They were too excited for the next group to come.

Some of our first trick o treaters. It was already getting dark so the pic is blurry.

We would have waves of kids from about 6:30 to 7:30.  At some points we had more than 20 kids in our driveway it was so fun.

By 7:50 we were out of the 10 pounds of candy I got and we had a grand total of 165 trick o treaters. And it was a wonderful evening.

Our only surprise was the lack of Star Wars costumes.  We only had one Yoda all night and that was it. Unbelievable for us.  Lots of princesses and scary guys, ninjas and football players.  The best of the evening was a teenager dressed up like a Christmas Reindeer.  It was awesome and very original.

Happy Halloween!

Saturday full of Sports

Today was a full day of activities and we are all tired for it.
First we had a soccer game.  We really didn't have much of a practice this week, everyone was going in a million directions and it really showed on the field today.
The boys just weren't in sync today.
Here's Buddy going for a ball.

The first half of the game Buddy scored a couple of goals, then he wound up at goalie the second half .

Mike, Zkid, and Buddy - these three are peas in a pod. I love the toothless smiles.

The team wound up losing 7 - 4.  I think its only our second lose all season, but it was deserved as the boys just couldn't make anything happen. Better luck next Saturday.  At least they had fun.

Went straight from soccer to a make-up football game.  Where we again couldn't make anything happen. I'm beginning to think the sugar overload from yesterday's class parties has made all the boys sluggish and not themselves.

Here Buddy gets a hand off - then he would drop it.

But he wasn't the only one.  I was so excited to take pictures of the team in the day light only to have them to only get a few good plays going.  Lots and lots of dropped balls and incomplete passes.

Buddy in the middle running for a kickoff.
We 'd scored one touchdown.

Coach doing some coaching to Buddy.

Buddy running for a flag. I think he got a couple.

LG doing his own thing. I know he has to get bored sometimes at all the games.

Buddy leaving the field.

We won 6 - 0.  They got close to scoring a few times, but we managed to hold them.  Hopefully this week will be a little better, they really struggled on the field today.

After the game, we rushed home for a snack and rest before heading out to a soccer party.  Didn't get any pics, because it was dark and I was tired, but we had a really good time. The weather was perfect and we had a nice time visiting with everyone.  Although Babe was ready to go to bed and got a little fussy toward the end so we had to take off alittle early and get to bed.

Random Thoughts

1 - We officially turned on our heat. It was 33 degrees this morning. Told you fall only last about 2 weeks here.  Ugh to the electric bill to come and Ugh to the dust it blew out and cause LG to sneeze and cough all night long.

2 - On the playground after school, Buddy and his friends have taken to collecting 100s of acorns. HUNDREDS.

3 - I had a lunch date with the Man this week and it was wonderful.

4 - I found Elsie Flannagan's blog finally..... I'm so happy.

5 - LG made M.E. a halloween hat at school.

6 - In the process of planning LGs birthday party.  Got the invites out. Now just need to come up with the games.

Trying to mimic the intro screen to Star Wars and think they turned out fabulous. I wrote the invite in yellow. Awesome.

Simply stickers for the outside.
7 - Big weekend coming up, soccer, football, and a party. oh my.  I am in charge of favors. And look how cute they are.

In progress.

Finished

9 - Babe is sleeping alittle better.  Two night this week, he slept for 5 hours straight. woohoo, if only I had slept for those 5 hours too.  : (

10 - Buddy had a halloween party today!

11 - 56 DAYS TO CHRISTMAS!
I'm thinking on doing all homemade gifts this year, but of course haven't started on anything, just some ideas... Got to get busy.

12 - Happy Friday!

Trunk O' Treat

I simply love the fact that our church has a trunk o' treat event, so that we don't have to walk around a neighborhood full of people we don't really know for trick or treating.  Its so much fun and the kids love it.

Want to guess what the boys were this year?  Do you think one or both was once again a jedi?

Obi Wan Kanobi

Soccer Guy

We had a few issues with Buddy's behavior and attitude leading up to Halloween season and quite frankly he didn't get an outfit.  I kind of felt guilty, but the Man and I stuck to your decision and didn't get him an outfit.  Thus he had to come up with something from the costume tub or his closet.  He happily chose to wear his soccer uniform.

Buddy's outfit from last year - LG wore it proudly!

He is so handsome.

He's got the moves.

At trunk o treat, we immediately ran into Zkid who was Annikan Skywalker.  He and Obi Wan had a small lightsaber duel.
And Buddy took off with his friends, we didn't see him for about a half hour.  I'm so glad I can trust him and we are in a safe environment for him to run around.  They had a blast.

At last but not least...

Our little ghost.

To sum up the night in two words:  SUGAR OVERLOAD!

Football

The Jets
Our awesome, undefeated football team.

Buddy got to be team captain tonight and was so excited.

I'm having serious trouble getting good pics of the games. On my sports setting there is not enough light - as the games are at night- to get good pics. On the night setting the action is happening too fast to get it.  So no pics again tonight, but good news, we have a make up game on Saturday, so hopefully, I'll remember the camera and get some good pics.

In short we won 18 - 6.  Buddy got a few carries, but didn't score this week.  The games are super exciting and he is having alot of fun.  I just wish we could get home at a descent hour.

Babe Here

It's me, Babe, and I've convinced Mama to let me have a turn at the story telling, so here goes.

I woke Mama and Daddy up earlier than usual.  I knew it was going to be an exciting day of picture taking with Moma's toy. [phone]
Moma

Moma and me - I've not crazy about yellow pajamas.

I watch the weather every morning, so I can know if we will be going to the playground or not.

This is Buddy getting ready to get out of the van at school. I like the days when we don't go to school.

Back at home brother plays with the tv.  He does this alot.

This is a picture of my favorite thing. My green ribbon. I love it very much.

Now we take brother to school again.  But this time its after I have breakfast and its sunny.  I will miss him. I like it when he is home with me.

Here's me and Moma as we get ready to clean.  I help Moma alot. I really like laundry.

After lunch I took a nap and Moma got my picture.  I don't usually sleep much because I don't want to miss anything - but with my brothers at school, I took a quick snooze.

After I woke up, I helped Moma with the mail and papers. She has lots of papers.  She gave me veggie puffs. I really like my veggie puffs, although they are hard to pick up.

This is my Moma.

After noon we go to school again to get the brothers. First this one.  I am so happy to see him. I love him so much.

Then after the bell, this one comes out and I get to see him and all the kids. I love it.  I like it when the girls talk to me. I can't wait to run with them.  I love him so much. And look how excited he is to see me.

Moma won't let me out of the stroller to play - so I took a picture of my feet.

my brother and their friend playing.

Back at home I play with my bird while Moma cooks.  I like this bird and eating his hair.

I really like it when my Daddy comes home.  He plays with me and makes me laugh.  Then its all Moma for the rest of the night.

So there's my day. Thanks for reading.
Thanks Moma for helping me, too!
