Happy Birthday Mammaw!

Today is my Mom's birthday!  Woo-hoo!
We really hope it was wonderful, and wish we could have been at your party.

Here we just layed low and tried to stay out of this heat. ugh!
Buddy and I played legos for awhile.
we made a strip mall, with a bakery, flower shop, gift shop and ice cream palor.

Meanwhile, the Man slept on the couch.

LG put a heart sticker on his head while he slept. You have to be careful around here.

Babe was taking a nap as well, and this is what I found when I went to check on him.

A very happy, rested babe.  He is so awesome.

He almost always wakes up like this. Lucky M.E.!

Company Picnic

Today was the Man's compnay picnic which always fun but always too hot.  Having a company outdoor picnic the first weekend in August is like having a beach party in January.  The heat this week has been in the 100s with today being no exceptionl. TOO HOT!  We could only stay for an hour, but got some loot.

The boys head straight for the inflatible for some sliding, running and jumping fun.
LG sliding on Lightning McQueen.

I almost didn't get Buddy in the picture, he was coming down so fast.

the boys didn't last on the inflatible because of the heat.
So we took shade under the big tent for some food and fun.

we played Bingo.

the Man was cheating my using three cards, while I won on one of my cards.  I was really happy to have won.  The lady before M.E. had gotten a $50 gift card to target, I was so excited. I was like woo-hoo scrapbooking supplies, but instead I got a $25 gift card to a mexican resturant (at least we love mexican) and an extra company camp chair.  We totally needed another camp chair so that was awesome.
The grand prize was an iPod Touch, I so wanted that, but didn't win. I was three numbers away and the Man just one away, but we didn't make it.

We then headed back out into the heat so the boys could bungee jump before we headed home.

Last year, Buddy loved this ride/activity.  He did it like three times.  This year, he was alittle apprehensive.

As he is getting older he's getting alittle less daring.  I don't think he smiled one time while jumping and was nervous to go to high.  Then again, it was about a 1000 degrees, so he was probably just ready to go.
The Man and M.E.  Aren't we adorable?
LG on the other hand, it finally big enough to do things like this and loved it.
The sun was at a bad angle for these pics, but you can see he's having fun.
He jumped pretty high and even did a somersaut or too (on accident).

Although we had a good time and the give-aways were great, I'm seriously considering email the top dog next year about moving this event to September or better yet October.  The heat was simply ridiculous.

First Friday Flashback

Its been over a year since I introduced this concept and I think I only actually did it twice, but in the spirit of getting in the blogging groove - here's an awesome installment of First Friday Flashback, circa 2007.

in our backyard in Kentucky
I remember this day very vividly.  It was a mild, Sunday afternoon in early August and the Man told the boys to go outside and stay outside.
they found some mud to keep them 'outside'
they head back out to the hole
LG with a diaper and pascy - he's so little.
oh my he was dirty
Buddy's not sure if he likes this or not.  I can't believe he is LG currently age in this pic. He seemed so big compared to LG now.
Not sure what Buddy is thinking?
Thanks Buddy for putting mud in your brothers hair.
It would take three different tubs of bath water to get them officially squeaky clean, but it was so worh it. I'm glad I got it all on film.

Happy Friday!

Oh Happy Day!

I get giddy when I see the UPS man coming up the driveway - usually means something good is coming our way.
Today, these arrived.
three new cricut cartridges, Give a Hoot, Sports Mania and 50 States.

A couple of weeks ago I got an email about a sale on cricut cartridges up to 60% off. woo-hoo!  I looked at the site picked our a few to investigate and then forgot about them.  The next day I got another email apologizing about the website. Apparently so many people went to the site and began purchasing that the servers couldn't handle it and crashed.  Beleive M.E. it was a great sell and after researching these and their original costs and the % off they were. I went back a few days later after the server was back up and I purchased these three for the price of one regular cartridge. GREAT DEAL!  And I've officially blown my scrapbooking budget for the summer and possibly fall, but it's so worth it.
The Give a Hoot cartridge has a item, accent, border and phrase for every button. Oh my, its wonderful. And of course I totally need the Sports Mania, with Buddy into everything.  And I couldn't refuse the 50 States.  Not only does it have every state, but also the flower, bird, name and flag.  Too awesome.
I can't wait to start scrapping again. Its going to be great.

Oh Happy Day!

Brushing up on School Stuff!

I got some cookies yesterday, Thanks Kathy, when our friends came over for salmon.  I love grilled salmon. Anyhow, having company over requires house cleaning, so the boys, the Man and I did a quick once over of the house, even mopping. Awesome, so today's the house doesn't look to bad, leaving M.E. time to play school with the boys.

LG practices writing his letters.

I think he's doing a pretty good job - I mean he still has a whole year before kindergarten.

Babe just kinda hangs out.

Buddy uses scrabble letters to practice spelling words.  For his lack of practice I was pretty impressed.

I had saved all his word cards for the school year so we have a good bunch of words.  Today he did 20 words. Hope to get through them all in the next two weeks before school.

Babe being cute.

BTW, Babe rolled from his back to his stomach for the first time yesterday, but unfortunately we were all out of the room and missed it.  Sorry Babe, but we really enjoyed you doing it for the second time.

Making a New Friend

Today, Babe got to meet one of his newest friends, Riley.  She was born at the end of May and is the beautiful daughter of one the Man's work friends.  We actually hang out with them quite often and got to share alot of stories about being pregnant and the upcoming arrivals of the babies.  Their first - our third.

Babe and Riley playing (or rather coexisting) on a playmat. She's as long as he is but 6 weeks younger - although he definitely out weights her by several pounds.

Aren't they just too cute!  It is going to be so fun watching them grow together.

In other news.... Buddy and I stopped at Walmart on the way to their house to get some groceries for us and also pick up some treats.  Treats being I had to have some chocolate chip cookies. I've done so good, so I was going to treat myself and ran quickly through the bakery section and got some freshly baked cookies to enjoy.
In the van, I break into them, anticipating the yummy goodness, when I discover they taste rather flat. Almost yucky.
Buddy tries one and yes he agrees something is wrong with these cookies. I'm very upset. It has been weeks with out a cookie and now these aren't etible.
Well, turns out they were etible SUGAR FREE chocolate chip cookes.
Serves M.E. right I guess!
LG would wind up eating most of them and getting diahrea from the splendia.  Not a good thing.

Jealousy or Performer?

LG pulled Babe's playmat up onto the couch and was playing with it - which also included using the pacsy.
He has shown little to no jealousy of Babe or been much trouble with the arrival and transition from youngest to middle - but now I wonder.
When he spit out the pacsy, he said "I babe"
So perhaps he's not jealous but a great preformer!
